General Description: Bryant & Stratton College’s (Wisconsin) Athletic Department is the leading junior college athletic program in Wisconsin offering 20 intercollegiate sports programs. The Bobcats volleyball program competes at the NJCAA Division II level (scholarship offering). All coaches are responsible for the overall development and advancement of a competitive athletic program while demonstrating high moral and ethical standards and positive sportsmanship.
Duties:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists the Head Coach in all aspects of the volleyball program with an emphasis as a Positional Specialist. This role emphasizes court coaching, weight training supervision, and assisting in film review while actively contributing to all aspects of the team’s operations.
• Assist with team and staff meetings, weight training supervision, and positional court coaching.
• Support film breakdown and review, becoming proficient enough to lead film sessions.
• Take game statistics and provide assistance in recruitment efforts, both digital and in-person.
• Attend all games, practices, and team events, and assist with additional tasks assigned by the head coach.
• Ensure compliance with NJCAA rules, including student-athlete eligibility requirements.
• Expected to become knowledgeable of all National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) volleyball rules, including student-athlete eligibility requirements.
• As representatives of the College, all coaches and student-athletes must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Volleyball Coach to supervise staff and student-athletes while traveling, to ensure the safety of staff and student-athletes.
• Assist with scheduling, organizing, supervising, and conducting practices and matches.
• The assistant coach may be required to drive vans to volleyball games.
• Other duties may be assigned by the head coach and athletic director.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Desired: Volleyball coaching experience at the high school, club or college level.
Desired: Strong organizational and communication skills.
Desired: Familiarity with weight training and player development strategies.
Desired: Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Desired: Familiar with Wisconsin and Midwest volleyball high schools and club teams.
First aid/CPR certification is a plus.
Must be able to serve as a positive role model for young adults.
Familiarity with NJCAA rules and regulations is a plus.
Clean driving record is preferred.
