As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in assisting our talented underwriting team. You'll dive into the exciting tasks of evaluating and analyzing new and renewal inquiries while supporting our efforts to write effective excess of loss coverage across diverse occupancies and territories. With a primary focus on North American property business with a Total Insured Value exceeding $100 million, this position is perfect for someone eager to expand their knowledge and skills in the insurance sector.

What You'll Do:

Become an Integral Team Member: Support our property division in achieving ambitious annual budgets through generating new business and maintaining renewal income. Engage with Stakeholders: Collaborate with brokers and clients in both face-to-face meetings and through effective communication to foster strong relationships and improve interpersonal skills. Streamline Processes: Manage the flow of submissions efficiently, ensuring all materials—from file management and underwriting workups to CAT exposure analysis—are handled promptly and effectively. Embrace Best Practices: Understand and adhere to underwriting procedures, guidelines, and authority levels to ensure that we operate at the highest standards. Manage Risk: Analyze CAT PML exposures effectively using RMS results and CAT mapping tools to ensure sound decision-making. Organizational Excellence: Complete underwriting workflows such as file management and rating tools within designated deadlines. Contribute to Special Projects: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the property manager to enhance your skills and add value to our operations

Knowledge & Experience: 

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in the London or Lloyd's market.You should thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrating strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.Previous experience in customer service, showcasing professionalism and a commitment to high standards of care.A pragmatic mindset with the ability to tackle challenges logically and effectively.Familiarity with MS Office, especially Word and Excel, is essential.Minimum GCSE qualifications in Maths and English are required, and a willingness to pursue professional examinations is a must.
