Job Title: Assistant Technical Diagnostic Executive
Department: RSA Technical & Network Operations
Location: 102 George Street, Croydon (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000, commensurate with experience
Bonus: £3,000
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, including a one-hour lunch break.
Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to identify, develop, and oversee the supply and support of all diagnostic, communication, testing, and support equipment utilized by roadside technicians. The specialist will enhance the management of company assets and remain at the forefront of emerging technologies and trends in this field.
The role involves presenting innovative technologies and ideas to the senior management team at RSA, supported by well-founded business cases aimed at improving roadside efficiency. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to foster continuous improvement in the development and understanding of new technologies and equipment among roadside technicians. Additionally, the specialist will work to minimize technician downtime related to Technology, IT, and Communications issues and will supervise the Diagnostic Support Specialist based in the GCC.
Remote Work Considerations:
We prioritize the establishment of a conducive workspace for our employees. To facilitate your role, we will provide the necessary IT equipment, including a PC, dual monitors, keyboard, and mouse. To ensure that our customers receive dependable and trustworthy service, it is essential to have a landline telephone available for use while working from home.
You will:
- Collaborate with the relevant Brand or Manufacturer to maintain an updated working relationship and ensure comprehensive knowledge of their specific support, warranty, and repair programs.
- Supervise and guide the Diagnostic Support Specialist.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for all roadside technicians, ensuring the return and proper documentation of all relevant equipment.
- Coordinate with the appropriate Technical Manager, Regional Manager, and/or Technical Trainer to keep all parties informed about the status of diagnostic equipment and to report any technical or damage-related issues that may arise.
- Serve as a liaison between technical teams and stakeholders (such as other departments) to facilitate the clear and accurate sharing of information.
- Travel for "offsite" visits to Technicians, Technician Roadshows, and Technician Training/inductions to address technical or IT issues, which may require overnight stays away from home.
- Install and update diagnostic, communication, and testing equipment in Technicians' vehicles as necessary, and provide technical support.
About you:
Essential
- Possess a minimum of GCSE qualifications or equivalent.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the following areas:
IT Laptops Networks Mobile Communications Diagnostic equipment Smartphones Windows Internet-Intranet Database technologies MS Office (Word/Excel)- Display strong administrative and organizational abilities.
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be proactive in approach.
- Show flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Hold a clean, current driving license.
Desirable
- Attain ‘A’ level qualifications or equivalent.
- Hold a recognized qualification in IT, Diagnostic, and/or Communications support.
