The Assistant Preschool Teacher works alongside the Lead Teacher to provide a nurturing, safe, and Christ-centered learning environment for young children. This role supports the implementation of a developmentally appropriate, standards and faith-based curriculum that fosters the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of preschool students. The Assistant Teacher plays an active role in classroom management, helping to prepare materials, facilitate activities, and provide individualized support to students. The Assistant Teacher will also engage in faith-based activities, modeling Christian values and supporting the spiritual and academic growth of each child. This role requires effective communication with the Lead Teacher, other staff members, and parents to ensure a cohesive learning experience.

Essential Functions:
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing a developmentally appropriate, standards based and faith-centered curriculum, helping to prepare materials and set up the classroom for daily activities.Assist in integrating scripture, prayer, and Christian teachings into daily routines. Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them develop Christ-like qualities such as kindness, empathy, and cooperation. Act as a positive Christian role model for children, demonstrating love, patience, and compassion in all interactions.Provide individualized attention to students, helping with activities, answering questions, and guiding children in their academic and spiritual development.Assist with classroom management by monitoring student behavior, encouraging positive interactions, and helping maintain a structured, yet nurturing environment. Communicate effectively with the Lead Teacher and support classroom instruction by following lesson plans and offering input on student needs. Help assess student progress through observation, documentation, and communication with the Lead Teacher regarding milestones.Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers, communicating daily updates as directed by the Lead Teacher and contributing to parent-teacher conferences or other discussions.Ensure the classroom complies with safety and health regulations, including maintaining a clean and organized learning space.Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and faith-based training sessions as needed.The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.
