Our client a leading Interior Decorating/Furniture company is searching for a highly experienced Assistant Store Manager who will be responsible for assisting in managing all functions of all departments of the store

Duties and Responsibilities
Overseeing the functions of all departments of the store
Sales generation and achieving of monthly and annual turnover targets
Manage shrinkage levels to within the company targeted ratio
Implement policies and procedures in order to minimise stock loss
Strategising sales and marketing plans to drive sales into the store
Recruiting and training employees of the store
Allocating budgets and planning the finances of the store
Evaluating sale reports and customer feedbacks
Planning new implementations and ideas to increase footfall of the store
Controlling the store inventory and ensuring the maintenance of the standards of goods
Studying market reports and competitor strategies
Setting sales targets for the sales teams and periodically reviewing the same
Good comprehension of the HR function and disciplinary procedures
Lead a team of 15 staff members
Develop the skills of the team

Requirements
A minimum of 5 years retail store management experience in the interior decorating/furniture industry with a proven track record required
Experienced in managing a staff compliment of 10 or more employees
Be familiar and have worked with leading interior decorators developers and other key players in the Interior Decorating industry
Have an in depth understanding and being able to relate to the influential Johannesburg/Pretoria customer market
Be familiar and aware of competitors in the industry in the JHB PTA region
A tertiary qualification in retailing sales management interior decorating or other related field of study will be advantageous
Must be sales and results driven
Outstanding leadership ability
Well developed management skills
Good communication skills and analytical ability along with strong merchant mentality
In depth knowledge of retail operating policies and procedures
Must have a positive problem solving attitude
Must have excellent interpersonal skills
Should possess good written as well as verbal communication skills
Dynamic self starter
Attention to detail
Willing to work retail hours

 

Salary/ Remuneration Package  Market related package consisting of a strong basic salary as well as monthly incentive scheme based on sales and performance Pension Fund and Medical Aid Contribution will apply after successful completion of 3 month probation period
