The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Job Summary: Assist in the management of all outlets at The Ranch at Death Valley F&B operations. Responsible for all front of house operations, including overseeing guest/customer service, employee relations, reservations, and the coordination of all F&B operations at the Ranch. The Details: Position Type: Full-time Year-round Start Dates: As soon as possible on next available start date Pay: $25.55 Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why the Oasis at Death Valley? Responsibilities Provide excellent guest/customer service and resolve guest related issues in a prompt manner. Coordinate and facilitate F&B operations to provide quality service and product for our guests. Responsible for scheduling, forecasting, Food & Beverage inventories to include linen, silverware, china and glassware. Payroll tracking and cost control. Management functions include but are not limited to: employee relations, conflict resolution, skills training, staff meetings, safety training and overseeing reservation book. Attend weekly F&B management meetings. Responsible for additional management and/or related duties assigned by immediate supervisor. Strong analytical and organizational skills demonstrated in a fine dining customer-oriented environment. Superior guest and employee relations experience. Responsible for ensuring that all employees are aware of the Ecometrix Policy, Xanterra’s company-wide Environmental Management System (EMS) and their roles and responsibilities in achieving conformance to the policy. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Two years management experience in a dining operation. Valid driver’s license. Strong computer skills, ability to learn various software programs, i.e. Micros, Cloudsuite, Kronos, and Microsoft Office. Must be able to work within flexible work schedule, as schedule may include mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Strong knowledge in food and beverage products such as wine, beer, spirits, fine dining service, food safety, liquor laws and bartending. Must be team-oriented with the ability to accomplish goals and projects. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple priorities and outlets. Physical Demands Constantly standing, walking, twisting, using eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling, wrist motion, bending/ stooping. Frequently carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 10lbs. Occasionally carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50lbs. Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking. Will be required to stand and walk for long periods of time on cement floors and to occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
