Job Summary
This position is for an individual with a PhD in biomedical engineering or a related field, who will collaborate on research at the Drexel Implant Research Core, with a focus on orthopaedic devices and point-of-care additive manufacturing. The successful candidate will assist on grant-funded projects with investigators in the IRC and external collaborators, spearhead grant writing efforts, and will create their own independent line of research. The work will involve developing methods for the additive manufacturing of implantable medical devices, manufacturing at the point of care, orthopaedic implant analysis, and characterization of materials relevant to orthopaedic applications.
Essential Functions
Lead the preparation of research proposals, identifying funding opportunities, and contributing to strategic planning. Spearhead the preparation, submission, and publication of refereed journal articles, demonstrating thought leadership and advancing the field. Lead and guide the research team to ensure deliverables are met in current research project. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students, advising on research design, methodology, and career development. Lead the preparation of detailed progress reports and presentations for communication with external sponsors and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with research objectives. Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications
PhD, Biomedical Engineering, Biosciences, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years' experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in 3D printing related research and orthopaedic implant research.

Additional InformationThis is a part-time Faculty position classified as Exempt. The salary offered is based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
