**Job Description**
Working as a member of the Academic Services team under the supervision of the Associate Registrar for Curriculum Management, Course Offering and Scheduling this Assistant Registrar role will be responsible for the following:
Curriculum Management:
Reviewing, approving and tracking new and updated course offerings via Curriculum Management online tool.
Educating academic department personnel on best practices in Curriculum Management.
Course Management/Scheduling:
The role is responsible for managing the scheduling of classes and exams in the university's classroom spaces, ensuring equitable and efficient use of resources. Key tasks include creating scheduling frameworks, preparing timelines, and resolving competing requests for limited space. The role involves monitoring and transmitting guidelines for creating the master course schedule, proofing examination schedules, and handling overflow and special requests. They train departmental staff on best practices for course setup and ensure data accuracy, including cross-listed courses and adherence to deadlines.
The position collaborates with department administrators, faculty, and space planning teams to address classroom conditions and scheduling priorities. It also oversees ad hoc classroom requests and works with Events Management on shared space usage. Finally, the role produces reports on space utilization and unmet needs to support strategic planning and continuous improvement.
Misc:
Coordinating the training of new staff in academic departments to develop and maintain their master course schedule as well as reviewing best practices on course set up regarding credits, seat pools, timing, co-reqs, co-location, etc.
Coordinating the management of course enrollments, via seat pools, throughout the summer to ensure even course distribution during freshman registration sessions.
Collaborating regularly with the staff in Space Planning, Media Technology Services, Academic Technology Services, Capital Projects Management, and Events Management.
Attending meetings and serving on task forces related to classroom construction.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $57,800 to $72,250; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
**Requirements**
Bachelor's degree required, Masters preferred.
Expert use of Microsoft office suite, google platform, familiarity with 25Live scheduling software and other educational software preferred.
Three to five years of higher education administrative experience preferably in course management and scheduling or similar registrar office role preferred.
Ability to multitask, manage frequent interruptions, and work effectively in a team-based environment. Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills required along with a can do attitude.
