Essential functions (job duties):
The Department of Technology, Information Systems & Analytics at Wayne State University's Mike Ilitch School of Business is seeking to fill a non-tenure track Assistant Professor (Teaching) for the 2025-2026 academic year, with renewal opportunities for future semesters.
Teach four (4) courses per semester including TIS 3630 "Business Information Systems," which is an introductory information systems management course, each semester (fall and winter). Ability to teach additional technology-based courses to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Serve as course coordinator for TIS 3630
Maintain and adapt curriculum that is current, effective, and appropriate to course and program competencies
Instruct students in a classroom, online (both synchronous and asynchronous modes) and/or hybrid setting
Work with the Department Chair to coordinate the scheduling of all TIS 3630 courses, including recommendation and evaluation of part-time faculty
Perform duties as assigned including those related to the Technology, Information Systems & Analytics and student success such as serving as faculty advisor for student organization(s). Contribute to at least one additional area: Service or Research in the department and school.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years experience teaching technology and information systems courses in higher education
+ Ph.D. degree in Technology, Information Systems & Analytics or related degree from an AACSB accredited school
+ Demonstrated effective past teaching experience
+ The candidate must possess the qualifications necessary to be designated a qualified faculty member in accordance with AACSB standard
