**Description**
The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC, Rochester, NY) is recruiting a part-time faculty member to teach microbiology, immunology and virology classes for both major and non-major students.
Microbiology and Immunology at URMC has a strong legacy of foundational and translational research, with many successful collaborations already established among our current faculty and a number of other departments and centers throughout the medical center and university. Microbiology and Immunology represents a major pillar of the URMC Strategic Plan, and we are committed to further strengthening this critically important research area.

Part-time Appointment. This will be a part time position at 60% FTE. Duties and responsibilities during the appointment term, will be to teach in the following courses:
A. Microbiology Lab (MBI 221W; Fall, 3 CR - 28 laboratory sessions, 3 hours per session). Course taught under the direction of Dr. Rick Barth and will have responsibility for (among other things): coordinating TAs, preparing reagents and materials for lab, and providing office hours to students taking the course.
B. Microbiology Lab for Non-Majors (MBI 223W; Spring, 2 CR - 14 laboratory sessions, 3 hr per session). Direction fo the course and responsibility for (among other things): developing and updating the course syllabus; scheduling of all laboratories and TAs; timely grading of all tests and exams; timely submission of all grades; providing office hours to students taking the course.
C. Immunology (MBI 473, 21 lectures organization workshops; Fall, 3 CR). Act as director of this course from Dr. Alexandra Livingstone, with all related responsibilities.
D. General Virology (MBI 456, 4 lectures on immunology).
E. Development of an immunology-focused lab course. Develop an immunology-focused lab course, either as a new stand-alone course, or integrated into the existing MBI 221W course. Develop a formal proposal for this course and present it to the department faculty for feedback.
