Assistant Professor of Sport and Recreation Management, beginning Fall 2025 (Appointment-Stream)
The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Sport and Recreation Management (Appointment-Stream) in the Division of Management and Education, beginning Fall 2025.
Requirements: Ph.D. in Sport and Recreation Management, or ABD (with August 2025 completion date) with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. Scholarship, advising, and service activities are required. Demonstrated strengths in teaching at a small liberal arts college; experience in advising and mentoring undergraduates; excellent communication, computer, organizational interpersonal skills; and research interest and publication potential in the field.
Responsibilities: Teach a 12-credit load every semester; actively participate in professional development; direct the program and organize a course schedule; advise and mentor students for internships and field/career placements; assess programs and update innovative programs and curricula; participate in university governance, committee work institutional development; and participating in student recruitment retention initiatives.
We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduates, both inside and outside the classroom. Teaching responsibilities could include principles and applied courses in the major, with emphasis toward fieldwork and career placement. The candidate is expected to partner with related disciplines in Management, Communications, Athletics, and Education to develop a program that takes advantage of the recreational opportunities in the region. A desire to work at a small, residential college is essential.
