The University of Maine at Presque Isle is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Social Work beginning in the fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach in our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program in various modalities including in person, hybrid, competency-based, and online. They will also serve on university committees, participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities, and scholarship activities as appropriate. The BSW Program currently offers a CSWE accredited, generalist practice program, a minor in Human Services, and certifications and/or courses offered towards certification in the university’s online learning platform, Your Pace. Certifications include Human Services Assistant, Gerontology, and the state of Maine Mental Health Rehabilitation (MHRT/C) Certifications. This nine-month tenure track position will encompass teaching such courses as social work practice courses, research, ethics, policy or other areas within the candidates’ areas of expertise. Additional responsibilities include providing student advisement, staying current with State licensure requirements and Canadian Social Work Registration regulations, maintaining office hours, participating in campus governance/committees, program meetings, ongoing professional development and scholarship activities, and interacting with the local professional community. Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the minimum salary for Assistant Professor is $62,222, commensurate with education and experience.
