The Saban Research Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, seeks to hire an accomplished neuroscientist for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Research Pediatrics.

Applicants should have an outstanding track record of studies that investigate the molecular basis of axon regeneration with strong expertise in cell imaging and microscopy training. This position aligns with CHLA’s Vision Center and the KSOM Roski Eye Institute’s mission to advance excellence in vision research and represents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving developmental neuroscience research community and to engage with collaborative teams at CHLA and KSOM. This university faculty member will be located at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and thus, candidates with a strong interest in translational neuroscience are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D., or equivalent degree. Submit a brief cover letter, curriculum vitae, a research plan of no more than 2-3 pages, and 3 letters of recommendation to be submitted by candidate’s references.

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is a nonprofit institution that provides pediatric health care to tens of thousands of children annually. The Saban Research Institute (TSRI) is a nationally recognized pediatric research enterprise that houses basic, translational and clinical research programs in the brain sciences and neurodevelopmental disorders, oncology, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal diseases, stem cells and developmental biology, infectious diseases and metabolism. CHLA scientists are faculty at the University of Southern California, thus providing a large university research partner for facilitating innovative research efforts that impact children at our hospital and around the world.

The annual base salary range for this position is $81,811-$235,856.  When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
