Assistant Professor of Physics **Loras College** 1 Positions ID: 56056 Posted On 11/14/2024 **Job Overview** **Beginning August 2025** **POSITION SUMMARY** The Engineering program at Loras College announces a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Physics position. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching a range of courses for the undergraduate Engineering major and Applied Physics minor, including classical and modern physics, as well as courses in his or her specialty. Candidates will be expected to occasionally teach engineering courses within their expertise. Candidates should also demonstrate a willingness to teach in the general education curriculum at Loras, provide academic advising to students, and supervise undergraduate research. **EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE** A Ph.D. degree in Physics from an accredited institution is required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching is preferred. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and a willingness to communicate current trends in the field to students and a variety of other constituencies is also highly desirable.
