The usual teaching load is 24 hours/credits per academic year, although first-year faculty have a 21-credit load. The precise courses taught will depend on the candidate’s areas of expertise and the needs of the Finance major, although there is a strong preference for candidates with analytics interests and the ability to teach Business Analytics courses. The ability and interest to teach Principles of Microeconomics or Macroeconomics are highly desired. Development of new Finance major electives in line with the candidate’s expertise is welcomed. The successful candidate will be an individual committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.** M.B.A. or Master’s degree in finance or financial economics or related field is required. A doctorate in finance, financial economics, or a related field is desirable. College-level teaching experience preferred. Professional designation (CFA/CFP) and/or industry experience desirable. The flexibility and interest to potentially teach in other business areas, particularly Analytics or Economics, are highly desirable traits.
**COMPENSATION.** Commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience. Fringe benefits include medical/dental/life/disability insurance, flexible spending plan, TIAA retirement plan, tuition remission program, family membership in Graber Sports Center/San Jose Pool, free admission to many college events, and free off-street parking.
**SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, ENGINEERING, AND INNOVATION.** The Noonan School of Business, Engineering, and Innovation consists of 30 full-time faculty members and offers majors in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, Mathematics, Analytics, Data Science, Public Relations, Creative Media, etc.
**THE COLLEGE.** Founded in 1839, Loras College is a Catholic, primarily undergraduate, liberal arts institution that includes pre-professional and career preparation programs, as well as several graduate programs. The Loras College community embraces the core values of truth, respect, responsibility, excellence, and service that define the way we work, behave, and relate with others. The student body consists of approximately 1,300 students, over 90 percent of whom are full-time undergraduates. The college is a wireless, laptop campus and there will be opportunities for developing technology-rich, interdisciplinary courses for the general education curriculum.
**THE COMMUNITY.** Loras College’s 60-acre campus is located on one of Dubuque’s highest bluffs, overlooking the Mississippi River at the junction of the states of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, about 3 hours west of Chicago. Dubuque’s population is approximately 60,000 and its nineteenth-century architecture is woven into limestone bluffs and provides a picturesque backdrop to the river landscape. Many residential and commercial areas have been designated as historical districts to preserve Dubuque’s unique heritage. Its strong education base supports numerous cultural activities, and in addition, there are sporting events, shopping facilities, schools, and churches that are convenient to its residents. The climate has marked seasons with a comfortable summer, cool spring, and fall, and a winter that encourages a variety of sports that have in recent years attracted a growing tourism industry.

Loras College
**About the Company**
Loras College was founded in 1839 by the Most Rev. Mathias Loras, first Bishop of Dubuque, who established St. Raphael Seminary to educate young men for the priesthood, but with the expressed intention also of providing an opportunity for higher education to the citizens of the area. The college has functioned under several names (St. Raphael Seminary, Mt. St. Bernard, St. Joseph College, Dubuque College and Columbia College), finally adopting its present name during its centennial in 1939.
Loras is a Catholic liberal arts college dedicated to the total development of the student. Small enough to be personal, large enough to offer a wide variety of quality academic programs, Loras College recognizes the human dignity of each individual and challenges men and women to grow with purpose and direction. Relating the rich liberal arts tradition to a changing world, Loras strives to develop active learners, reflective thinkers, ethical decision makers and responsible contributors in their diverse professional, social, and religious roles. The College has an enrollment of approximately 1,600 students and employs over 375 faculty and staff members. Although employee turnover is low, interesting and challenging employment opportunities do exist in a variety of technical and professional career fields. More employment information is available at the Loras College employment opportunities webpage: https://loras.applicantpool.com/jobs/ .
