Clinical Assistant Professor of Higher Education

The Department of Educational and Psychological Studies at the University of Miami invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Clinical (Educator Faculty) position in the Higher Education Administration and Leadership programs. This is a full-time, non-tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses primarily in the Executive Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership program, supervising and advising Ed.D. dissertations, and providing service to the program and department.
The Higher Education Administration and Leadership programs prepare students for transformational leadership roles. Our Higher Education Administration program offers master’s degrees in three innovative tracks: Enrollment Management, Student Life & Development, and Institutional Research & Policy Analysis. Our Higher Education Leadership executive program offers the Ed.D. through an intensive cohort model that allows professionals to study while maintaining their jobs and careers. Our higher education programs focus on preparing reflective, data-driven decision makers, practitioners with a strong theory-to-practice orientation, applied researchers, and leaders of colleges, universities, and related educational organizations.

Responsibilities
+ Teaching graduate-level courses in our Higher Education Leadership Ed.D., including (but not limited to) Diversity in Higher Education, Enrollment Management, College Student Development, and Qualitative Research Methods.
+ Helping to supervise doctoral student dissertations.
+ Assisting the higher education leadership program director with program-related activities such as student recruitment and program assessment.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Doctorate in higher education or a closely related field earned by August 2025.
+ Experience in graduate teaching, especially in teaching practitioner-oriented doctoral students.
+ Experience in advising and mentoring graduate students.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Engaged in or potential to engage in scholarship is preferred, especially research that embraces our multicultural vision and mission of the department and school.
