Job Summary
This nine-month, tenure-track (or teaching-track) faculty position requires teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Public Health programs in the school, developing a programmatic line of research (if tenure-track), serving as internship coordinator, and providing service to the school, college, university and professional organizations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
+ Teaching (online and face-to-face) in the undergraduate and graduate Public Health programs.
+ Facilitating fieldwork placement for undergraduate internship students and graduate practicum students in Public Health programs.
+ Coordinating outreach activities and events for students, alumni, and employers.
+ Collecting and disseminating internship and outreach data for the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) Accreditation in collaboration with School and program leadership and staff.
+ Serving as an advisor for public health student organizations, such as Eta Sigma Gamma.
+ For tenure-track appointments:
+ Commitment to build and sustain a robust research agenda to include creation and dissemination of new knowledge and pursuit of external research support.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Terminal degree in Public Health (DrPH, PhD, etc.).
+ ABD applicants will be considered as long as doctorate is conferred by time of appointment.
+ Masters-level applicants may also apply; however, they are ineligible for a tenure-track appointment.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs, and colleges.
+ If tenure-track:
+ Demonstrated line of scholarly inquiry evidenced by submission of peer-reviewed publications, professional presentations, and/or grant submissions and awards.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Specialized knowledge in the field of public health as demonstrated by graduate level coursework or professional experience is required.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Three to five years of experience teaching public health-related courses.
+ Experience teaching in multiple delivery modes (asynchronous online, synchronous online, and face-to-face).
+ Experience with CEPH accreditation.
+ Experience placing and/or supervising student practicums/internships.
