What this job involves:
As the Assistant Manager - Technical of electromechanical/utility services, your responsibilities include overseeing maintenance tasks, coordinating with stakeholders, implementing preventive maintenance plans, conducting inspections, and reviewing subordinate work. You will also be responsible for documentation, training staff, budgeting, monitoring SLAs/KPIs, managing invoices and vendors, and ensuring safety compliance. Additionally, you will create action plans, participate in evacuation drills, maintain reports, and implement checklists for daily operations. Overall, your focus will be on delivering efficient and reliable services while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Manage the MEP scope of the projects to ensure the quality and deliverables within the stipulated time.Manage and maintain electromechanical/utility services at the site, coordinating with technicians and ensuring timely task completionImplement planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and conduct regular inspections to identify and address risk areasEnsure smooth operations of all Mechanical, Electrical, plumbing installations and Civil works in the facilityResponsible for carrying out all maintenance-related schedules and shutdowns in consultation with superiors/clientsSupport the engineering team to maintain the budgets for Engineering & Operational contracts.Responsible to handle the shifts independently on all Engineering related matters;Responsible for daily reporting on MEP to the Engineer;Assist in providing comprehensive facility, contract and procurement management for technical services to the clientImplement and oversee the pre-emptive maintenance program to reduce the risk of sudden failures of critical equipment;Maintain the logbooks, checklists and Plan Preventive Maintenance schedules for all MEP installations;Ensure the contractors follow the house rules, Safety & others at all times and the projects are handled with minimum inconvenience to the Client;Take rounds of the facility regularly to identify issues and support events at the siteReview the work of subordinate staff, provide guidance, and facilitate their training and development.Oversee vendor quotations and invoices, schedule monthly vendor meetings, and take corrective actions when necessaryConduct risk assessments, create action plans, and participate in evacuation drills for emergency preparednessMaintain engineering reports, enforce safety practices, and monitor daily/weekly/monthly checklists to ensure efficient service delivery and adherence to safety standards.Sounds like you? Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
5-10 years of experience in Commercial engineering managementHaving a degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronic Engineering or a related field Strong experience managing and maintaining electromechanical/utility services in a commercial or industrial settingKnowledge of preventive maintenance strategies and ability to implement planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules effectivelyExperience in conducting inspections to identify risks and defects and taking necessary corrective actionsDemonstrated ability to review and guide subordinate staff, providing technical guidance and support as neededProficient in documentation and tracking, including managing AMCs, invoices, and vendor quotationsStrong budgeting and financial management skills, with the ability to monitor SLAs/KPIs and control expensesExcellent understanding of safety regulations and ability to enforce safe working practices, conduct risk assessments, and create action plans for emergency response and system failuresLocation: On site
