About This Role
The Assistant Manager, Travel & Expense (T&E), will manage a team of direct reports responsible for the day-to-day activities related to Gartner’s card, travel, and expense processes while helping to ensure the strategic goals of the T&E, S2P Customer Service teams, and Gartner are met. In this role, you will work closely with the S2P Customer Service team on T&E escalations and collaborate with other T&E team members, Project Managers, and S2P Customer support to improve processes and customer service levels.
Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Lead and manage a team of direct reports responsible for the execution of day-to-day T&E operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Oversee the card, travel, and expense processes, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
Collaborate with leadership to align T&E operations with the strategic goals of the organization, contributing to the overall success of Gartner’s financial and operational objectives.
Develop and implement performance metrics to monitor the effectiveness of T&E processes and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
Handle escalations related to T&E issues, working closely with the S2P Customer Service team to resolve problems promptly and effectively.
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to improve efficiency and customer service levels within the T&E function.
Provide regular reports and analysis on T&E activities, highlighting trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
Professional Experience
A minimum of 5-7 years of experience, finance or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in managing or leading teams, with a focus on developing talent and driving team performance.
Experience in managing projects, particularly those related to process improvement and operational efficiency.
Technical/Professional Skills & Competencies
Good to have experience in T&E management software and tools, such as SAP Concur, Oracle Expense Management, or similar platforms.
Proficiency in advanced MS Excel is a must have.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
A strong customer service orientation, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
