Assistant Major & Complex Claims Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims Solutions team at Marsh Advisory. This role will be based in London or one of our regional hubs in Birmingham or Manchester. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a remarkable individual to join Marsh’s esteemed Claims Solutions team in London. Claims Solutions is a dynamic offering from Marsh that unites specialists in forensic accountancy, surveying, engineering, adjusting, legal, and claims advocacy.

The team provides expert advice across five key areas: insurance claims preparation and project management, advocacy dispute resolution (quantum support), business interruption (BI) insurance review (pre-loss), claims defensibility, and assistance with dispute avoidance and resolution.

A key discipline within our suite of services is major and complex claims consulting, focusing on post-loss claims preparation, presentation, and project management of insurance claims for our broking clients. You will support these claims under the guidance of Senior Claims Managers and with the backing of the wider team.

This role offers the chance to engage with the world’s largest policyholder-focused major and complex loss team, applying advanced claims management skills to a diverse array of client claim issues.You will collaborate with the Senior Claims Manager (experts in Property, Construction, and Energy) to establish the strategy for each claim, aligning with our client’s priorities and our expertise.You will oversee stakeholder management (including clients, internal colleagues, insurers, and their teams of loss adjusters, forensic accountants, and specialists) while driving the momentum of the claim process.You will deliver outstanding stakeholder experiences, combining strong project management with effective communication and a collaborative approach.You will benefit from professional development opportunities provided by industry leaders, satisfying your desire to learn and improve.You will manage a diverse range of claims across various industries globally.You will become part of a team of passionate, talented individuals who are dedicated to our clients and work collaboratively to achieve excellent outcomes and customer experiences.You will gain a deep understanding of each client, their business, priorities, and the claim strategy.

What you need to have: 

You should possess a strong commercial or consulting background, ideally within the insurance sector.You should have a desire to pursue a career in major and complex claims on behalf of policyholders.You should have experience in project management, stakeholder management, and possess excellent communication skills.You should have a proven track record of delivering outstanding customer outcomes.You should have a positive attitude.You will bring energy and enthusiasm to learn and enhance your claim preparation and project management skills and knowledge.You will be an excellent team player who supports our mission and values, collaborating effectively with colleagues.

What makes you stand out?

You should have solid demonstrable experience in handling major and complex material damage and associated financial loss claims.You should hold an insurance qualification (e.g., CII, CILA).You should have an aligned professional qualification (e.g., BEng, CEng, RICS, MCIOB).
