Assistant Leisure Centre Manager
Job Overview Facilitate the delivery of leisure services for clients, ensuring a positive and enriching experience. Maintain the operational hours of the Leisure Centre by opening and closing it on a rotating shift pattern, including weekends. Oversee the cleaning team to guarantee consistently high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility. Provide leadership and direction to the reception team, ensuring efficient and welcoming guest interactions. Develop and implement strategies to strengthen the Activ Kidz brand, promoting its offerings and attracting participation. Maintain a clean and presentable environment within the Leisure Centre, fostering a positive first impression for all visitors. Manage the booking process for both new and existing reservations, including the creation and issuance of invoices. Demonstrate effective leadership within your assigned areas of responsibility, continuously seeking improvements in processes and service delivery.

Main Duties

Contribute to a safe and healthy environment within the Leisure Centre by actively participating in all health and safety proceduress. Facilitate the monthly health and safety toolbox talks for Leisure Centre staff, ensuring effective communication of critical safety information. Assume responsibility for all front-of-house operations and cleaning services. This includes managing stock control for cleaning equipment and consumables, overseeing the creation and implementation of a cleaning program that consistently achieves satisfaction rates exceeding 85%, and resolving any related issues that may arise. Perform line management duties for the cleaning, Activ Kidz and reception teams, including processing annual leave requests, handling sick leave, and fulfilling other supervisory responsibilities. Collaborate closely with the Leisure Centre Manager to play a key role in developing and implementing marketing initiatives for the Centre. Ensure the timely opening and closing of Leisure facilities in strict accordance with established site procedures. Analyse customer feedback on a monthly basis to identify areas for improvement and propose actionable recommendations. Perform general reception duties as required. Provide support to the Facilities Management team by assisting with locking and unlocking of school facilities, as necessary. Demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to learn by embracing new tasks and challenges as they arise. Contribute to the operation of the pool plant, as required.   What we are looking for

Essential Criteria:

Demonstrated experience: A proven track record of success in a similar leisure centre management role or a directly relevant industry. This should be coupled with previous experience and qualifications for working on the poolside, in the studio and fitness suite. Proficiency in business software: Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, for tasks such as creating reports, managing budgets, and developing presentations. Exceptional communication: The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with a strong attention to detail. This includes clear and concise communication with staff, members, and stakeholders. Customer-centric focus: A passion for providing exceptional customer service experiences, ensuring the satisfaction and well-being of all leisure centre patrons. Superior time management: The ability to effectively prioritize and manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment, while remaining calm and composed under pressure. Problem-solving and innovation: Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to explore new and innovative approaches to improve efficiency and service delivery within the leisure centre. Computer literacy: Confidence and proficiency in using computers and relevant software applications for day-to-day tasks and operations management. Qualifications: Pool Plant Operators, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification,
