Job Description
Under the direction of the Housing Manager the Assistant Housing Manager is responsible for supervising and assisting with the oversight of the processing of service requests for the Leased Housing, Voucher Choice Program. The Assistant Manager is responsible for using all relevant HUD Regulations and NYCHA Policy and Procedures to accurately review and complete work for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Review and approve all Client Services Administration processes, which include, but not limited to recertifications, lease renewals, and contract rent changes.
- Ensure all processes are completed accurately to meet Section 8 Management Assessment Program (SEMAP) standards.
- Supervise staff which includes training and development, monitoring productivity and performance and disciplinary actions.
- Assist in the monitoring of performance analysis for the team; including the preparation of reports, findings and recommendations that relate to performance management.
- Provide technical assistance to staff to ensure accurate case processing.
- Identity and report system issues, fixes, and enhancements.
- Ensure prompt, accurate and timely responses to external and internal inquiries.
- Establish working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

ASSISTANT HOUSING MANAGER (HA) - 80205
Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and one year of full-time satisfactory supervisory and/or administrative experience in housing management at a development or developments containing at least 150 apartments, including overseeing the performance of duties such as: interviewing applicants; determining eligibility; gathering and evaluating information to resolve complaints; collecting rents; and/or resolving tenant related problems; or
2. A four -year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, and five years of the full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above; or
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience as described in "1" or "2" above. Undergraduate college credits may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of full time satisfactory experience. However, all candidates must have a four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent.
