The Assistant Food Service Manager performs high volume food preparation of average difficulty at a correctional facility and/or leads inmates/residents in food production activities. Performs related duties as required.
Supervise food service staff and inmates/residents in the performance of their duties.Assist in menu planning; confers with treatment staff on nutritional needs.Supervise preparation of meals in accordance menus and recipes cards approved by a registered dietitian.Inspect and taste prepared foods to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.Direct the serving of meals in accordance schedules, portion control, and proper serving procedures.Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent. Two years experience in food service and prior supervisory experience preferred. Must meet all state and local government food handling requirements. Demonstrate a knowledge of all aspects of food service operation including cost control, food quality, safety and sanitation.A valid driver's license is required.Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
