Assistant EHS Manager (Bi-lingual)

VOLT is immediately hiring for an Assistant EHS Manager (bi-lingual English/Spanish) in Bartlett, IL.

As the Assistant Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager you will be responsible for:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tOverseeing and fostering a culture that promotes employee safety and ensuring compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety laws. This includes 3 manufacturing plants on one campus and one offsite office.\r\n\tInteracting with 700+ employees at all levels of the organization and provides training as needed.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tInspecting the facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.\r\n\tDeveloping health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.\r\n\tPreparing and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.\r\n\tMonitoring compliance with safety procedures.\r\n\tDrafting inspection reports to document inspection findings.\r\n\tEnsuring that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tManaging on-site Safety Committees and provides follow-up action when required.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tResponsible for all environmental reporting and compliance.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEstablishing and conducting preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tOverseeing and updates Emergency Action Plan and serves as primary contact for injury and incident notification, performs accident investigation, and provides case management.\r\n\tMaintaining OSHA compliance and written log of safety inspection activities, reports, submits OSHA 300 log, and handles all safety related correspondence.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPerforming emergency response drills and schedules all safety related training.\r\n\tLeading Risk Assessment activities and ensure corresponding documentation for corrective action is complete and up to date.\r\n\tOverseeing inspections of fire extinguishers, eye-wash stations, exit lights and forklifts.\r\n\tAssists HR with the administration of the Workers Compensation program and works closely with HR to oversee return to work and light duty programs.\r\n\tConducting job safety analysis, job hazard analysis and risk assessments on assigned tasks and jobs.\r\n\tExecuting proper management of the sites’ hazardous waste management activities to ensure 100% compliance with federal, state, local and company regulations and standards.\r\n\tPartnering with Plant Managers and Human Resources regarding accountability and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full time, Direct Hire opportunity.

\r\n\r\n

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor's Degree in an EHS-related field and 2+ years of EHS experience including training and experience in a manufacturing environment is required.\r\n\tBi-lingual Spanish and English required. \r\n\tOSHA 511 – OSHA Standards for General Industry course completion.\r\n\tExperience in food manufacturing and GMPs is highly preferred.\r\n\tExperience with ammonia and glycol cooling systems is a plus.\r\n\tExtensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) safety standards and EPA regulations and policies including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)\r\n\r\n\r\n

Salary: $70,000 – 85,000/year + yearly 5% bonus

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
