Assistant District Manager - Textile Care

Join Ecolab's industry leading Textile Care team as an Associate District Manager in the Northeast US region. You will make a positive impact on our commercial laundry customers as you provide expert consultation and solutions that improve linen quality, boost operating efficiencies and enhance sustainability. 

 

Reporting to a District Manager-Textile Care the Associate District Manager is responsible for assisting the District Manager in the achievement of the district sales and expense budget through the recruitment, hiring, training, motivation, and direction of regional Territory Managers. In partnership with the District Manager, they are responsible for developing Territory Managers within the region to ensure quality service, maintain and increase our customer base (primarily laundries - central, uniform rental, linen and distributors), and facilitate the achievement of Ecolab’s financial objectives through ethical and sound business practices.

What You Will Do:  

Provide leadership and direction to a team of Territory Managers in all aspects of new sales gains, organic growth of existing business, value delivery and customer retention through customer relationships and executive reviews. 

Continuously identify business needs and opportunities and develop and implement customized solutions for customers 

Take action to consistently increase customer satisfaction & retain customers - assess needs, provide information, solve problems 

Understand and demonstrate the sales process and utilization of sales tools to maximize leads and generate new business. Work with the designated Business Development Manager to grow District revenues 

Know competitor, competitive offering, and impact on customers and prospects. 

Gain new business through focused and targeted prospecting, and continuous involvement in marketplace.  Focus on List, independent and corporate accounts customers. 

Encourage and assist team to find new ways of doing business, increase sales and continuous process improvement to exceed growth targets 

Foster a team environment in which new knowledge and ideas drive growth 

Embrace Ecolab culture by following through on commitments, modeling ethical practices, interacting genuinely with others - integrity 

Identify and build rapport with key customer contacts and decision makers – internal and external 

Develop leads through networking with customers and other divisions 

Coordinate sales and service activities with distributors, marketing functions and Corporate Accounts for district 

Build marketplace relationships through involvement in associations, trade shows, educational and community organizations, and other market groups. 

Maintain business relationships with the top 20 largest customers in each district 

Conduct at least one Executive review and one plant audit per quarter 

Recognize unique and diverse capabilities of each associate and actively work to build upon individual strengths 

Attend safety training and ensure principles learned are applied by you and direct reports; proper/safe use of equipment, safeguards, PPE and hazardous materials 

Foster and build team spirit with TMs in District and Textile Care overall 

  

Position Details:  

This position covers the Northeast Territory, from Maine to NC to Ohio.

The ideal candidate should reside near a major airport

50-75% overnight travel required    

The position consists of 50% sales, 30% field support and 20% performing customer reviews

  

Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years of industry or Ecolab experience = 1 year of post-secondary education)  

3 - 5 years’ general sales, sales management, and business management experience 

Demonstrated expertise with Textile Care product lines and offerings 

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentations skills 

Excellent organization and follow-up skills 

Flexibility to work emergency calls at night, on weekends, and over holidays 

Ability to travel extensively as necessary 

Valid driver’s license and an acceptable 2-yr driving record 

 

 Preferred Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree 

3 years’ experience in the Textile Care or related industry 

Previous management experience 

Proven sales and relationship skills 

Strong ability to successfully lead a team of sales professionals 

Desire to succeed in a competitive environment

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range:

Total compensation range is $97,800 – $122,300. This position has base salary and is eligible for incentive compensation based on performance, per plan terms.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range is based on full-time 40 hours per week. Ecolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the compensation for a potential new employee such as education, training, experience, work location, travel (if required), etc.
