The Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON) influences practice within the Nursing Department and creates an environment to support professional practices.
The ADON assists the DON with authority, accountability, and responsibility for nursing management of Seven Hills at Groton and its programs.
The ADON collaborates with other health professionals and provides consultation to other department heads, peers, departmental resource persons, and others as part of the management process. The ADON supports and interprets the mission and goals of Seven Hills at Groton’s philosophy and goals of the Nursing Department.
ResponsibilitiesAssistant Director of Nursing Responsibilities:
• Interpreting facility and nursing philosophies and objectives with staff in order to facilitate their implementation at Seven Hills at Groton.
• Enduring compliance with state, federal and local standards and regulations.
• Developing and reviewing programs, goals and objectives based and priorities and resources of Seven Hills at Groton in collaboration with other department heads, DON and Administrator.
• Assisting to implement QA/QI programs and initiating changes based on findings.
• Assisting the ongoing development and implementation of the Shared Governance model of the Nursing Department.
• Interpreting budgetary process to staff.
• Encouraging staff members to learn about and participate in departmental and facility activities.
• Assisting the DON with interviewing, promoting, employing, providing performance counseling as necessary and terminating clinical nursing and support staff according with departmental and facility policy.
• Assisting staff to develop decision-making skills.
• Assisting staff members to define professional practice goals.

Assistant Director of Nursing Qualifications:
•Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of Three (3) years of nursing practice.
• Progressive leadership experience and demonstrated managerial ability
• Supervisor of shift experience preferred
