ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INTAKE & BUSINESS PROCESS REDESIGN

Position Summary NYCHA’s Office of Maximo and Asset Management (OMAM) seeks a motivated professional to serve as Assistant Director of Intake and Business Process Redesign. Reporting to the Director, this role will conduct research and analysis make recommendations on proactive strategies, goal setting, operational planning, and performance monitoring. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Under direction, with wide latitude for the exercise independent judgement and initiative, the Assistant Director of Intake and Business Process Redesign will: 1. Evaluate methods, procedures, and data obtained from research and investigations. 2. Supervise essentially independent investigations pertaining to best practices and alternative systems and software. 3. Assist in coordinating the research efforts of the agency with research projects in other agencies or institutions. 4. Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement, utilizing both operational and technological solutions, including reviewing standard procedures and trainings, and data analysis. 5. Utilize research tools and data analysis techniques to identify trends, patterns, and areas for operational optimization. 6. Make and record observations on the progress of research/investigations. 7. Design, experiment and interpret experiments related to systems current functionality and proposed functionality. 8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design new processes, and ensure successful implementation, ensuring the alignment with findings and best practices. 9. Develop and maintain project plans and other documents, including managing and coordinating project elements, reviewing milestones, and ensuring efficient progress on implementation through consistent monitoring of progress of initiatives and commitments. 10. Assist various business units to develop requirements for functionality changes to Maximo. 11. Review existing Maximo related reports and make recommendations for operational enhancements and increased efficiency. 12. Provide backup to the Senior Director/Director for management and escalation issues when designated. Additional Information 1. CITY RESEARCH SCIENTIST - 21744 Qualifications 1. For Assignment Level I (only physical, biological and environmental sciences and public health) A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health. To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have: 1. A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization; or 2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least a master's degree in an appropriate field of specialization and at least two years of experience described in "2" above. Two years as a City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required in "1" and "2" above. NOTE: Probationary Period Appointments to this position are subject to a minimum probationary period of one year.
