Assistant Director of Finance

The Assistant Director of Finance position is responsible for overseeing the hotel's general ledger operations and supporting the hotel Director of Finance. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Finance will be responsible for efficiently running the Finance department in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. Other responsibilities will include but not limited to the following: Salary range $97,800 - $151,400 + Prepare and review all journal entries, month-end reports, and balance sheet reconciliations. + Review preliminary financial statements with the Director of Finance + Participate in monthly financial reviews with Department Heads and assist the Director of Finance with the preparation and presentation of these reports for ownership + Supervising the hotel's accounting staff, including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training, and evaluating the team's performance. + Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management and timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and cash management. + Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings, and full P&L responsibility. + Assist with managing and ensuring SOX compliance. + Assist the Director of Finance with completing the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance. + Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review, and analyze the variance explanations involving the department staff in this process. Take the initiative to manage troubleshooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement. + Operational Analysis: Conduct regular assessments of operational processes and workflows across departments (front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, etc.) to identify areas for improvement In addition to the Assistant Director of Finance responsibilities, the selected candidate will oversee new productivity systems which would include the following: + Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity and service quality, providing actionable insights to management. + Training and Development: Design and implement training programs that enhance team skills, promote best practices, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. + Budget Management: Collaborate with department heads to optimize resource allocation and manage labor costs while maintaining service excellence. + Technology Integration: Evaluate and recommend tools and technology solutions that enhance productivity and streamline operations. + Guest Experience: Work closely with the guest services team to ensure that productivity improvements align with delivering exceptional guest experiences. + Collaboration: Partner with HR and department managers to foster a positive work environment and encourage employee engagement and retention. + Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management on productivity initiatives, outcomes, and recommendations for further improvements.
