Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment Operations
Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0008899 Position Summary/Description: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment Operations (AD) is primarily responsible for prospect and application management within the school’s Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) tool, currently Slate. Duties will include: maintaining admission and enrollment-related processes within the CRM : collaborating with campus, department, and IT staff to stay abreast of new features, admissions and data-related policies, and shared best practices; generating dashboards, queries and reports to both inspire a culture of data-informed decision making and support required accreditation and rankings-related inquiries. In addition to the duties listed above, the AD will serve as an admissions representative, which includes presenting, conducting group and one: one admissions counseling, evaluating applications, and serving on the admissions committee. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Education and Experience: Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to connect effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders, including parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and admissions professionals. Preference for candidates with at least one (1) or more years of experience in admissions, higher education, business development, recruiting, scholarship management and/or a minimum of three (3) years of related business experience in a relevant field. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to connect effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders, including parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and admissions professionals. Enthusiasm for promoting UNC and Kenan-Flagler and serving as a resource for prospective students. Master’s degree in Business or Education preferred. Essential Skills: Candidates should possess a prominent level of proficiency with SIS or CRM tools, as well as a high level of comfort with technology in general. Ability to attend and/or manage events in the evening hours and some weekends during peak recruiting periods (August-November and January-April), and a willingness to travel a minimum of 5% to represent UNC Kenan-Flagler at national and international conferences and/or recruitment activities. Candidates should demonstrate a professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a collaborative spirit are essential, along with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
