Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add an Assistant Director to the Sleep Lab in Somerville NJ. Primary responsibilities include leadership, supervision, and management of a sleep program.

Qualifications:

Required:

Board certification in sleep medicineClinical practice experience in an AASM-accredited sleep medicinePrevious medical leadership role preferably in sleep medicine

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Board certification in sleep medicine

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift, 40 hours/weekFull-Time Schedule

Essential Functions:

Supervision and mentorship for sleep medicine faculty with appointments in all departments Teaching house staff, and the community in sleep medicineThe development of independent research projectsProvides continuous quality improvement, including case review and design and implementation of quality indicators.Assists with the development of the AASM Sleep Lab and participates in marketing strategies. Meets with the director to ensure operations are sufficiently profitable such that overhead costs of the facility can be more than covered.Understanding of the structures, rules, and processes of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance payers. Specifically, an understanding of insurance coverage verification, prior authorizations and referrals, denial appeals, out-of-pocket costs, and deductibles, to optimize profitability for the lab and how it handles incoming orders.
