Job Description Summary The search will remain open until the position has been filled. First consideration will be given to applications received by October 23, 2024. BASIC FUNCTION:

Reporting to Associate Director and supporting the Executive Director, develop and make recommendations for new strategic initiatives, partnerships, community engagement, outreach activities, innovative initiatives, and strategic growth for the University. Support existing OSI programs. Analyze potential revenue streams and create a cost/benefit analysis as well as a budget for new programs or initiatives. Assist in monitoring and evaluating program success and sustainability including strategic planning by evaluating and recommending proposals for new initiatives. Assist in maintaining professional relationships with various external and internal stakeholders across the University.

Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with the Executive Director and Associate Director, in the development of community engagement and workforce and economic programs that address the needs of local, regional, and state businesses and industries and the stated mission, goals, and priorities of the University.

Work with the Executive Director and Associate Director to expand academic opportunities, workforce skill development and training, certificate programs, and program evaluations.

Work with the Executive Director and Associate Director to identify, design, support, and/or deliver revenue generating projects, programs, products, services and/or opportunities.

Provide ongoing communication to staff and stakeholders of overall trends, needs, and opportunities in both the Rhode Island and regional economies.

Use various program evaluation methodologies, including formative, summative, and developmental evaluations, to provide feedback on program success. Act as a collaborative partner with faculty and staff in grant opportunities.

Design valid and reliable evaluation studies using quantitative and qualitative data collection methods (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations).

Use project management skills to plan, organize, and oversee evaluation projects, and academic and certificate programs.

Create and use Office of Strategic Initiatives LinkedIn account to promote OSI programs and generate brand awareness.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Associate Director.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Personal computers, printers and word processing, database management and spreadsheet software.

Required Qualifications REQUIRED:

1. Master’s degree.

2. Minimum of five years’ experience in a higher education setting implementing and/or expanding programs (i.e.; certificate, credit, not-for-credit, and industry-related programs).

3. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.

4. Demonstrated project management skills (including measuring performance against goals).

5. Demonstrated experience in utilizing various program evaluation methodologies.

6. Demonstrated experience in data collection methods (i.e.; surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observations).

7. Demonstrated ability to work both with a team and independently.

8. Demonstrated experience working in the private and/or public sectors to develop and deliver educational programs and workforce trainings (including assessing their impact and effectiveness).

9. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

10. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

11. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:

1. Master’s degree in education, adult education, business, or related field.

2. Demonstrated record of acquiring external funding through federal or state grants or related agencies.

3. Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, multi-year grants and programs.
