Liberty Mutual Mobility Solutions is working to develop solutions for the future of transportation and we’re seeking an Assistant Director, Mobility Product Research to support product research and development for new mobility insurance products. Join us as we work with the firms that are changing the way people and goods move; including autonomous vehicles, ridehail, car sharing, subscription, micromobility, and more.

 

This role will help drive the development of mobility segment products and segment strategies to help us stay ahead of and capitalize on the disruptions we see and anticipate in the transportation space. A key to success in this role (and for the success of our team) will be the ability to adapt the traditional capabilities of commercial lines and personal lines insurance products to address the needs of our mobility customers.

 

As part of the Mobility Solutions team, you will be involved with a top priority cross-business unit initiative aimed at positioning our company for success as transportation evolves. With a number of new mobility products already in market, this role will be responsible for executing on opportunities to improve and expand our portfolio.

 

Responsibilities:

Market / Product Research: You’ll be responsible for identifying emerging and/or unmet needs of mobility players and producing insights for what capabilities we should be building or adapting. You’ll be focused on our largest gig economy accounts / partners; responsible for contributing to our partnership strategies, helping understand and prioritize opportunities for growth / optimization, and building our understanding of the markets / competitive landscapes to support decision-making.

 

Product Development: You will be responsible for building, improving, and deploying solutions across the spectrum of personal and commercial lines to meet the emerging needs of mobility players. You’ll coordinate cost-benefit analyses to inform product initiative prioritization, as well as ensure the reasonableness / consistency of assumptions throughout the product initiative portfolio.

 

Project Management: You will drive and coordinate cross-functional initiatives, working closely with teammates in other functions (including partnerships, underwriting, pricing, and claims) and business units to build on our competitive advantage and enhance our positioning in the marketplace. Typical initiatives will be focused on pursuing new business opportunities, renewing key accounts, building critical capabilities, and building thought leadership in the marketplace.

Qualifications Minimum 6 years relevant work experience, typically 8 years (previous experience in insurance product or underwriting preferred)Experience with Auto Product, background in State Management and/or Commercial Auto product a plusTrack record of framing decisions and recommending trade-offsExpert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (eg, SAS, Emblem)Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision making, communication, and project management skillsHighly developed quantitative analysis, problem-solving, and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to build relationships and influence others (both with and without authority)Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiativesExperience managing projects preferredBachelor's degree or equivalent in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field beneficial About Us
