Assistant Director, Fitness and Wellness Programs
Position purpose: 
The Assistant Director of Fitness and Wellness Programs is a key leader within the Department of Fitness and Recreation, dedicated to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among the Belmont University community. This role ensures the delivery of exceptional fitness and wellness programs, including personal training, group fitness, and educational initiatives for students, faculty, and staff. 

Essential Functions: 

1.  Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive group fitness and personal training programs. Continuously assess and enhance these programs to meet the evolving needs of the community. 

2. Collaborate with Student Care and Support and BeWellBU to develop and implement wellness initiatives and special events that align with the university's Strategic Pathway 3 goals. 

3. Oversee the recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of a diverse team, including Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors, and Graduate Assistants. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages professional growth and excellence. 

4. Collect, analyze, and report key performance indicators and assessment data on a weekly, per-semester, annual, and event basis. Utilize this data to develop strategies that support the department, division, and university's strategic goals. 

5. Develop and continually update FitRec’s trainer and instructor curricula on Canvas to effectively support and enhance staffing in personal training and group fitness.

6. Assist in the management and oversight of fitness facilities in the Beaman Center and Caldwell Hall. Ensure equipment is well-maintained and regularly evaluate equipment needs to enhance the user experience. 

7. Assist in the design and execution of Fitness and Recreation’s brand management and communication strategies targeted at the Belmont community.
