Assistant Director, Constituent Engagement
Position Summary University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment. The Assistant Director, Constituent Engagement supports and develops programs to deepen the relationship of donors with NYU. Serve as the primary manager for the Young Alumni Leadership Circle (young alumni giving society). Manage volunteers, solicitations, stewardship efforts, and overall event management. Manage the relationships & engagement strategies with volunteers, and increase membership of each group year over year. Manage administrative and programmatic support for additional NYU giving societies, such as NYU Loyal, NYU Loyal Leaders, and others as determined. Build relationships with internal (UDAR) and external (NYU) staff to increase personalization and customization within our central giving societies. UDAR encourages work-life integration for our employees, therefore this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. Qualifications Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Bachelor's Degree specialization in marketing, communications, and/or fundraisingRequired Experience:5+ years of managing fundraising volunteers and oversight of integrated marketing campaigns, or combination of experience and educationPreferred Experience:5+ years experience in Annual Fund/telefundraising activities related to a university or other academic, non-profit, and/or development environment Supervisory experience with calling experience a plusRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent strategic, interpersonal, analytic, written, and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational and project management skills Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment Ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty, and outside groups Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software Working knowledge of crowdfunding software Experience with board and committee managementPreferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Proficiency in MS Office, Access, and Powerpoint Must be able to act with confidence and discretion Budget management skills are a plus Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,000.00 to USD $100,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
