BASIC FUNCTION:

Design, develop, and implement Talent Development (TD) program’s assessment policy, and evaluation plan. Identify TD’s success metrics alongside the TD leadership team, create tools and mechanisms, including dashboards, to capture, assess, and display data for strategic alignment and decision-making purposes. Design system for data collecting, analyzing data, and reporting to determine academic interventions in order to improve student retention and persistence to graduation. Produce, implement, and manage an electronic data student tracking system. Maintain confidential records. Oversee the department’s retention efforts in all areas of the program. Plan and deliver effective social media and online communications for the purpose of recruitment, student success, parent and community communications, and alumni relations. Design, supervise, and evaluate summer digital literacy instruction for incoming first year students. Ensure Talent Development students’ progress toward graduation in a timely and systematic manner.

Duties and Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the Division of Student Affairs and other campus offices to identify program effectiveness that aligns with URI’s strategic plan, and the strategic action plans of the Division of Student Affairs and TD.

Develop and assess key performance indicators (KPI’s); generate and present on TD assessment reports.

Research, analyze, and assess program needs and effectiveness to ensure the program’s continuous improvement, including longitudinal assessment, identify trends and develop recommendations based on goals and metrics. Design, implement, and oversee evaluation tools for data collection and analyses. Generate assessment reports.

Create, develop, implement, and oversee a TD data dashboard. Coordinate regular review of assessment measures. Share with internal and external stakeholders.

Develop appropriate plans, timelines, and assessment tools for continuous program improvement in consultation with campus wide departments. Implement academic initiatives related to outcomes assessment and enhancement of student learning and achievement with the TD Associate Director.

Remain current with national standards, benchmarks, and best practices related to outcomes assessment and enhancement of student learning and persistence in all majors.

Recruit, train, manage, supervise, and evaluate support staff. Participate in conferences and webinars through attendance or facilitation to represent the program and the University.

Implement and maintain an internal communication system to update students in regard to program news and opportunities. Participate as an active member on University committees.

Write, edit, and produce a variety of publications and reports, including digital and print data visualization tools in a variety of formats for diverse audiences. Manage the marketing and distribution of publications and reports.

Oversee, implement, and manage assessment tools; analyze appropriate national or local assessment tools instruments. Provide individual and group training to improve assessment methods.

Develop an internal Strategic Plan for TD’s website, Social Media and Communications with regard to students, alumni, parents, and the community. Design, enhance, and maintain the department website. Manage Social Media communications on platforms and other related media.

Design and produce a quarterly department newsletter.

Design curriculum and implement digital literacy for the summer program. Oversee, hire, train, and supervise staff.

Manage information displays/kiosks in the student interaction space of the TD building(s).

Provide academic advising on an individual and group basis in Talent Development and manage a caseload of undergraduate students. Manage student advising platforms for record keeping. Conduct Progress Check Point evaluations with TD students.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work evenings and weekends, when necessary.

Perform all other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

Statistical software, such as SPSS, Microsoft BI, or other software. Data visualization tools. Statistical outputs.

Required Qualifications REQUIRED:

1. Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.

2. Minimum of three years’ experience with quantitative and qualitative assessment/evaluation of student learning outcomes.

3. Demonstrated ability to quantitatively interpret, analyze, and explain various statistical outputs (i.e., t-tests, ANOVAs, regression, and models with multiple dependent variables).

4. Demonstrated use of statistical software (including, SPSS/SAS, Access, Power BI or similar) and data visualization tools.

5. Demonstrated project management experience.

6. Demonstrated experience implementing data driven change.

7. Demonstrated experience developing training materials and/or activities.

8. Demonstrated experience integrating technology into assessment and advising.

9. Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.

10. Demonstrated presentation skills.

11. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

12. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

13. Demonstrated knowledge of website management (i.e., WordPress or similar content management systems).

14. Demonstrated ability to use social media applications.

15. Demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and administrators.

16. Demonstrated supervisory experience.

17. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED:

1. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

2. Demonstrated advising experience with diverse populations.

3. Demonstrated fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Southeast Asian languages.

4. Demonstrated experience creating, developing, and improving an assessment plan.

5. Demonstrated ability to manage and update websites (i.e., WordPress or similar content management software).
