Salary Range: $120000 - $150000 / year 

 

Position Summary 

Supports the Controller and CAO in all areas of finance including corporate reporting, financial planning and analysis, taxation, and budget preparation/forecasting. Ensures company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles and that internal policies and controls are followed. 

 

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

•    Prepares financial statements
•    Prepares both internal and external reporting packages 
•    Oversees Corporate and field monthly closing processes and deadlines. 
•    Supervises general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and to efficiently resolve discrepancies 
•    Supervises and prepares journal entries, including tax and allocation entries
•    Reviews and prepares foreign currency transaction/translation entries 
•    Oversees related party transactions, including intercompany, intracompany, investment in subs/JVs and eliminations. 
•    Oversees Corporate processes relating to cash transactions, AR, prepaids, fixed assets, EQ, AP, accruals, DTF accounts etc. 
•    Substantiates and reviews new suppliers/vendors/service providers set up documents 
•    Substantiates and reviews for accuracy expenditures and expense reports. 
•    Manages and assists with financial audits  
•    Assists with the preparation of financial analyses, outlooks, and forecasts 
•    Works with Corporate department managers/staff to develop budgets and business plans   
•    Manages accounting procedures and ensures compliance with internal controls including Company policies, GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley 
•    Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements  
•    Audits workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized 
•    Prepares internal reports and works on special projects as requested 
•    Assists with hiring, training, and managing staff 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications 

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s Degree and CPA preferred 
•    A minimum of 4 years senior-level finance or accounting experience, construction industry experience preferred 
•    Public and private accounting experience is required
•    Public audit experience is required
•    Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles  
•    Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
•    Strong problem solving and resolution capabilities to maintain efficiency and accuracy
•    Working knowledge with foreign currency transactions and translations
•    Knowledge of federal, state, and local financial regulations  
•    Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections  
•    Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting 
•    Ability to perform with a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity 
•    Ability to effectively train and manage staff 
•    Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes 
•    Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills  
•    Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills

•    Works in an office environment 
•    Frequently sits for long periods of time 
•    Frequently speaks, reads, writes and uses a computer keyboard  
•    May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
•    Occasional Travel required – 0% to 5%
