Assistant Controller
Description We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting and control functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing support for strategic financial decisions. You will also have direct oversight of senior and staff accountants, ensuring the integrity of financial data, reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing guidance on adjustments as necessary. • Conduct analyses and prepare financial statements for underlying investments, supervising the creation of foundational investor and lender reports. • Direct the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial statements. • Manage the compliance with regulatory agency requirements through timely and accurate report submissions. • Coordinate and manage the implementation of accounting related software, ensuring comprehensive reporting across the portfolio. • Lead cash flow, profitability, and investment return analyses, aiding in performance monitoring and financial forecasting. • Oversee financial data analysis for budgeting and planning, ensuring alignment with asset management strategies and operational goals. • Engage with auditors, tax professionals, and other external partners to facilitate financial oversight and compliance. • Oversee the Accounting department, ensuring staff competency and effective performance in financial reporting and asset management. • Liaise with other reporting units within the organization, coordinating efforts and ensuring alignment. Requirements • Possession of 7 or more years of experience in a related role • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems • Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services • Skilled in the use of Concur • Proficient in Crystal Reports • Knowledge of DCAA regulations and requirements • Strong understanding of general Accounting Functions • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Background in Auditing • Ability to handle Billing Functions effectively • Proficiency in Sage Intacct software • Experience in managing financial matters for Multifamily Properties Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
