About the role:
Our Accounting team is growing in NYC! The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller and other members of the accounting and finance departments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
What you'll do:Oversee a team of 5 to ensure timeliness and accuracy of monthly close and reporting processes for global company with 6+ entities in 22+ countriesAssist in preparation of the company’s financial statementsWork alongside FP&A to summarize the company’s financial results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisManage balance sheets and timely reconciliations on a monthly basisOversee day to day  accounting (AR, AP, Expenses, etc.) and month-end close (Billings, Accruals, Balance Sheet reconciliations)Work with FP&A to prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis of actuals vs budgetOversee global and subsidiary reporting including consolidations, transfer pricing, intercompany accounting, statutory filings and regulatory requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of accounting processes and financial reporting processesDevelop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistencyEnsure compliance with  applicable government regulations for various reporting regions throughout the globeWork with controller to establish and regulate global tax strategy and ensure we are adhering to all tax regulationsImplement and safeguard internal controls to ensure accuracy and complement of financial reporting Coordinate annual audit, audit inquiries and financial statement preparationWhat experience we're looking for:10-15 years of relevant experienceBachelor’s degree in accountingCPA or MBA a plusHighly skilled in accounting and financial processesSolid understanding of GAAP and applicable regulationsGlobal experience requiredTax experience a plusWho you are:Approachable, with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsSkilled in time management and prioritizationDetail oriented and highly organizedExcellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills Knowledge-seeking, proactive, adaptable, and drivenWhat we offer:Flexible, fun start-up environment and culture.An approachable and accessible C-Suite.Comprehensive health benefits.401k + match.Quarterly Lifestyle Stipend.Unlimited PTO and summer Fridays.Company-wide and team specific entertainment budgets.Sponsored Volunteer Events and Vistar Gives Back program.An awesome and supportive bunch of people to work with and learn from.At Vistar Media, we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, and other relevant business considerations. The salary range estimate for this position as performed in New York City is $160,000 - $170,000 plus bonus potential, comprehensive health benefits, 401k with company match, and a lifestyle stipend. The salary range for this position as performed outside of New York City may vary. The actual pay will be at Vistar Media’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
