Description Assistant Controller We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our client's team in Stamford, Connecticut. This role is responsible for managing a small team and ensuring the smooth execution of various accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Responsibilities • Supervise a team of four individuals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to maintain accuracy and efficiency. • Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with auditing standards and practices. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to optimize accounting workflows. • Monitor billing functions to ensure timely and accurate invoicing. • Provide support to the Controller by delivering insights and updates on financial activities. Requirements Preferred Qualifications • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. • Demonstrated expertise in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Strong skills in auditing, billing, and general accounting functions. • Excellent leadership abilities, including experience overseeing and mentoring a team. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
