Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with policies. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting functions and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial services. Responsibilities: • Oversee the accurate preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial statements and annual audits. • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and maintain ethical standards. • Supervise the accounting team to ensure timely completion of all tasks and projects. • Conduct monthly reconciliations of credit card accounts and balance sheet accounts. • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, ensuring accuracy in the general ledger. • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning. • Perform audits of cash handling and other financial assets for security and accuracy. • Develop and implement internal controls to optimize revenue and cost management. • Maintain and monitor financial software systems to ensure proper functionality. • Provide training and guidance to new accounting staff to ensure seamless onboarding. Requirements • Proven experience in accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. • Proficiency in financial software systems such as ADP, Concur, and Crystal Reports. • Strong knowledge of auditing practices and compliance standards, including DCAA requirements. • Familiarity with billing functions and financial statement preparation. • Expertise in using Kronos and other accounting tools for effective payroll and time tracking. • Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in financial data accurately. • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
