Description Robert Half Finance and Accounting is working with a growing service organization based in Fort Worth, Texas on a search for a New Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will manage the activities and staff of the accounting function to provide timely and accurate financial statements, forecasts, reports and controls. Requirements include: + Proficient in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP and regulations + Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures + Protects assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls + Ensures compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports + Keep up-to-date on information and technology affecting functional area(s) to increase innovation and ensure compliance + Interact with auditors and regulators. Answer their questions and provide needed detail to them, as needed. + Administers uniform accounting system for budgetary purposes + Financial reporting + General ledger account reconciliation + Monitors and ensures activities of day-to-day operations + Supervises accounting staff of 5 Job Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting + Mortgage banking experience required + 5+ years of experience in managing an accounting team + Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), internal controls and financial reporting required + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions + Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a dynamic fast paced working environment + Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook This growing stable organization offers a competitive compensation package up to $180K plus benefits.
