Assistant Compliance Manager

What is the opportunity?

You will be responsible for supporting the governance and reporting processes for Regulatory Compliance UK, Europe and Asia Pacific region, covering Capital Markets and Wealth Management.Regulatory Compliance Management (“RCM”) is the program through which RBC manages and mitigates regulatory compliance risk. This role will support for the ongoing management, governance and reporting processes of the RCM program for the region across CM and WM and ensure that RBC regional RCM remains current, accurate and consistent with approach taken as part of the global RCM program. Supports the Compliance COO, UK, Europe and Asia Pacific with the implementation and project management of strategic initiatives for UK Europe and Asia Pacific Compliance departments and Global Compliance initiatives. 


What will you do?

Assist in the compilation of senior management reporting for the Regulatory Compliance departments across UK, Europe and Asia Pacific, covering Capital Markets and Wealth Management.Devise repeatable, clear, concise, and consistent reporting procedures and processes for the Regulatory Compliance department.Use project management skills to support global Compliance initiatives, including identifying participants and roles, define project deliverables, reporting structures, executing plans, meeting milestones, and ensuring quality of deliverables. Support the planning and preparation of Audits, Quality Assurance Reviews and Regulatory ExamsSupport in managing the Compliance financial planning processes and monthly reviews of financials reports.Support resource tracking across the Compliance UK, Europe and Asia Pacific departments, including vacancy management.Coordinate annual Business Continuity exercises for the department including Remote Access and WAR site testing, and support the annual UK Compliance Business Continuity Planning.Provide support on ad-hoc, time critical deliverablesProvide support to the RCM Programme for UK, Europe and Asia regarding Governance, Issues Management and Regulatory Feed, including data entry, analysis, and reporting.

Must-have

Working knowledge of European and UK regulatory environmentDelivery focused, comfortable with hard deadlinesAbility to assimilate large amounts of information and get to the core of the issue. Keen eye for detailAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to influence others and build strong long-lasting working relationshipsStrong written and verbal communications skills Highly proficient with MS Excel – VBA, graphing, pivoting, formulaeHighly proficient with PowerPoint – simplifying and distilling information to develop high impact presentations.Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

Formal Project Management Certification (PMP)
