Position Summary:

This position is responsible for coaching professional athletes and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:

Assists the Head Coach with practice drills, strength and conditioning and player personnel issuesPrepares game films and reports on opposing teamsScouts other teams and personnel

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assesses talent for drafts and scouts collegiate athletesAssists in all camps and clinics that are run by the organizationAssists the Head Coach, as needed

Minimum Education and Qualifications:

Bachelors’ Degree in Sports Management or a related fieldTwo years of experience as an Assistant or Head Coach in the NBA, WNBA or Division 1 teamMust have previous experience working with management and team ownership groupsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and multi-tasking skillsIntermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and OutlookIn lieu of a Degree and previously mentioned experience, three years of experience as an Assistant or Head Coach in the NBA, WNBA or Division 1 team may be considered

Competencies:  Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:

Excellent interpersonal skillsAble to work with the players and ownership group

Training Requirements:

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the game of basketball

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift and move equipment, bags and supplies that may be in excess of 50 lbs.Must be able to travel on behalf of the team or leagueMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays
