Position Summary

Whitworth University invites applications for the position of Assistant Coach for Men's Basketball. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual who reports to the Head Men's Basketball coach and will provide leadership to student-athletes and assist in coaching the men's basketball team. Duties include, but are not limited to, individual player development, recruiting, scouting, practice planning and implementation, travel arrangements, film exchange, and other assigned administrative tasks. This is a full-time position working 10 months.

Core Responsibilities

Assistant Coaching | 65%

Assist in the planning and implementation of basketball practice sessions.Conduct scouting of opponents, manage film exchange, and prepare scouting reports.Develop individual players through skill, conditioning, and strength/speed training.Mentor and support student-athletes in their personal and academic development.Ensure compliance with NCAA and NWC regulations.Recruiting and Team Support | 25%
Assist in the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes.Organize and administer team travel logistics and home game management.Develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, and alumni while interacting favorably with department personnel and the university community.Contribute to fundraising efforts for the men's basketball program.Other | 10%
Teach physical education and activities courses depending on education and experience or provide game management oversight.Perform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
