About the Team
The Rejuvenation Merchandising team builds an engaging, unique and functional assortment of home furnishings and décor. Our team considers all areas of the home, from the Living Room, to the Kitchen, to the Garden. We work cross-functionally with the Design team, the Sourcing team and the Planning team, as well as retail and web channels to deliver small and large scale pieces for every style of house.
About the Role
As an Assistant Buyer, you will assist with the development of business strategies and seasonal assortment plans to maximize the development of the brand, sales and profits for a department or assigned area. You will identify opportunities and recommend new product or concepts. You will coordinate information across functions working closely with Inventory Management, Sourcing, Design, Web, Production, and Visual to ensure processes are followed and timelines met.
Responsibilities
SKU Set up and maintenance of product information.Creation and upkeep of Assortment tools.Cross-functional communication of product information, project status, sample timing, order and status.Order, track and monitor product samples throughout development process.Identify and recommend new products or business opportunities.Support store, trade and customer service teams with product information and respond to staff inquiries daily.Review and approve all print / email / web sales tools for each season.Submit all pricing tools including price/cost changes, promotional tools, and markdowns.Prepare analysis as directed.General administrative duties.Operate a computer and communicate via telephone.Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis.
Criteria
Minimum of 1 year of Buying/Product/Category Management experience. Prior experience in home décor is preferred.Proven track record of driving top-line and bottom-line results.High level of proficiency in MS Office suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.High level of proficiency in working with ERP system.Ability to develop strong cross functional relationships.Outstanding problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple priorities.Thrives in a high energy and fast paced environment, with the ability to be flexible and react to rapidly changing business needs and prioritiesAbility to perform work onsite in the Portland office full-time pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic
