The Gaming Enforcement Division is a statewide team of prosecutors, investigators, and administrative and other staff, partnered with the Massachusetts State Police, and charged with investigating and prosecuting gaming-related crimes pursuant to G.L. c. 12, § 11M. _Primary Duties_: The Assistant Attorney General (AAG) will be involved in investigating and prosecuting criminal conduct related to expanded gaming in the Commonwealth, including violations of G.L. c. 23K, G.L. c. 23N, G.L. c. 267A, and G.L. c. 271, and other illegal activity, such as gaming-related financial crime, cheating, public order offenses, and other criminal activity occurring at the casino. The work in this position will emanate from Encore Boston Harbor, and the AAG will be assigned to and appear daily in Malden District Court. The AAG will be expected to handle a large District Court caseload and will be charged with leading and coordinating investigations and prosecutions with the Massachusetts State Police and Everett Police in conjunction with other prosecutors, financial investigators, victim/witness advocates, paralegals, and support staff. The position requires a candidate with a proven track record of versatility and adaptability, and the ability to build bridges and exercise good judgment. Division members work closely with the State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit assigned to both the Attorney General’s Office and the Gaming Commission, as well as federal, state, and local law enforcement partners, which demands a demonstrated history of successful partnerships with other law enforcement agencies. Additional duties will include screening potential cases, fostering relationships with industry stakeholders, participating in trainings, and working cohesively with others in the Attorney General’s Office and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
