**Job Description**
Reporting to the Director of Development, Schools & Programs, the Assistant/Associate Director of Schools & Programs will serve as primary content expert for a portfolio of schools and programs that comprise BC’s most prominent areas of research, teaching and service. As a content expert, the AD will serve as a resource to colleagues in functional areas across UA, primarily development, stewardship, communications, and the Alumni Association. The incumbent will supply verbal and written content and access to relevant university partners. The AD will also play a key role in ensuring consistency and accuracy of messaging across these functions. The AD will maintain relationships with campus partners, noting that many relationships with senior administrators will require coordination with Directors, the Executive Director and the Associate Vice President of Schools & Programs. On occasion, the AD may be asked to develop new areas of expertise and/or work on other projects as assigned.
The Assistant/Associate Director in Schools & Programs will partner primarily with the Carroll School of Management, its Centers, and other academic initiatives to increase support and awareness for innovative programs, faculty and student achievements, research and interdisciplinary initiatives. These content areas are subject to change.
The AD will be responsible for developing written content that can be used effectively for numerous Advancement purposes, including proposals, appeals, reports and correspondence. Additional projects that enhance and support philanthropy for the Carroll School of Management and the academic program may be assigned.
At the Associate Director level, there may be opportunity for the AD to manage a small portfolio of prospects whose gifts are connected to their areas of content expertise. As the AD progresses developmentally, this portion of the job may increase commensurate with skills and career aspirations.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The salary range for this position is listed below with the final salary based on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Assistant Director $63,800 - $79,750
First Level Associate Director $70,500 - $88,150
Second Level Associate Director $75,900 - $94,850
**Requirements**
This position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher.
For the Assistant Director position requires 1-3 years of professional level experience in higher education or a minimum of two years of professional experience in a relatable fundraising area;
For the first level Associate Director position, 3-5 years of experience in a higher education setting, with particular emphasis on communications, stewardship, project management, and some frontline fundraising.
The Associate Director second level requires a minimum 5 years of experience in a higher educational setting, with particular emphasis on communications, stewardship, project management and some frontline fundraising.
To be successful, the AD must possess intellectual rigor, the ability to bridge sectors, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to understand the needs of- and work equally effectively with university officials and staff colleagues, and the ability to manage time and conflicting priorities. Must be a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education and have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.
