The faculty member will teach a total of 9 courses per year over three semesters. Dissertation advisement is part of the load, with 5 students constituting a course. The position is entirely remote, and the program curriculum has been designed to put mission and program differentiators at the forefront. While we have worked with professional instructional designers to construct the coursework and online platforms, this new faculty member will have the opportunity to enhance the already-designed primarily asynchronous doctoral courses. This is an open-rank position ideal for someone who would prefer to work remotely. Opportunities for in-person visits to campus will be made available. Area of focus should include general educational leadership and applied research, with additional experience in higher education leadership applied research preferred. SCHEDULE: This is an appointed faculty position as governed by the Faculty Status and Welfare Handbook. Days, occasional evening or weekend hours as required. In accordance the Faculty Status and Welfare Handbook: Instructional: + Teaching, including the preparation of course syllabi and classes, the preparation and grading of examinations, the supervision of laboratories and other practica, and the direction of theses, honor projects, and independent study work. + The maximum instructional load for teaching faculty during the academic year is: + Nine (9) credit hours in each of the fall and spring semesters for each person holding the rank of Professor. + Twelve (12) credit hours in each of the Fall and Spring semesters for all persons holding the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor. Academic Advising: + Post and observe office hours for purposes of academic advising and student consultation. Meet with students as needed by appointment. + Advise and assist students during the ongoing registration process. + Maintain general knowledge of degree requirements, programs and course transfer information. Institutional Service: + Participation in activities (usually through committee work) designed to advance the mission and quality of the University, School, and Departmental programs.
