This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to preparing transformative leaders in education. This is a 9-month tenure-track position located on Tarleton’s Fort Worth, Texas campus. Summer appointment is dependent upon need and funding availability. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work and teaching requirements indicate. May be required to teach at other campuses or online at the institution’s discretion. Must have the ability to work remotely at the request of the university in times of inclement weather or other special circumstances. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching, maintain an impactful research program, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, actively engage in mentoring and guiding doctoral students through their academic and research endeavors, and participate in the necessary operation of the institution. The successful candidate will teach and foster a supportive and enriching environment within our Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program, with responsibilities including course instruction, dissertation committee service (as both chair and member), and contribute to the growth and excellence of the program. *This announcement will fill two open positions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 60% Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity: + Maintain an active agenda for research, scholarship, or creative activity appropriate to the applicant’s academic discipline. + Make original contributions to the advancement of knowledge/creative expression in the applicant’s discipline through scholarly publication, presentation, or exhibition. + Demonstrate potential for external funding and/or grant participation, national impact, or professional recognition. 40% Teaching and Service: + Plan, prepare, and teach doctoral-level courses in the Ed.D. program, with a focus on PK12 and/or higher education leadership. + Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc. + Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements, while working in partnership with program faculty on student advising and orientation. + Serve as a chair and member on doctoral dissertation committees, providing high-quality mentorship to doctoral students. + Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning. + Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring. + Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities. + Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement, while developing, implementing, and reviewing effective teaching processes with appropriate methodologies, technology, and tools. + Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field, improve teaching skills, and explore new instructional strategies. + Collaborate with colleagues, departmental faculty, and university staff to coordinate course offerings, share resources, contribute to program and curriculum development and improvement, and support program planning, accreditation, and assessment activities. + Participate in institutional service roles including but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty. Minimum Requirements: + Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D) in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, or a closely related field from an accredited university . + Evidence of effective teaching experience, preferably with doctoral students. + Demonstrated experience or potential for serving as a dissertation chair and committee member. + Evidence of an active research agenda with potential for or history of peer-reviewed publications and/or grant awards. + Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English. Preferred Requirements: + Demonstrated experience teaching online or hybrid courses in higher education. + Expertise in PK-12 or higher education leadership, with prior administrative or leadership experience in K-12 or higher education settings. + Proven success in mentoring and advising of graduate students. + Demonstrated experience securing grant funding. Academic Rank: + Rank will be determined by reviewing the faculty member’s record of years of experience and professional achievements in teaching, service, and research consistent with the Texas A&M system guidance. + Must have a distinguished record that warrants a tenured faculty appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. + If requested, tenure upon arrival would be granted pending approval from The Texas A&M University System. + Credit towards tenure will be assessed and offered at hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge and understanding of disciplinary subject matter at a level adequate for graduate-level instruction; written and oral communication skills sufficient to conduct effective teaching and research activities; ability to interact with students, staff, and faculty in a professional, collegial, and collaborative manner. ***Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience*** Application Procedure: During the application process applicants have one opportunity to enter the requested information, upload documents and submit the application.
