Asset Protection Technology Specialist

Your Impact
The principle purpose of the AP Operations Specialist is to assist with implementing and overseeing programs that maximize profits and minimize liability for the Company by protecting the people and assets. Under the direct supervision of the Manager of AP Technology, this role is responsible for assisting with all aspects of AP Technology research, deployment & implementation. This individual will also assist with maintaining the functional business relationships with IT, Sourcing and service vendors. This individual will assist with holding business partners and vendors accountable to their support/contractual obligations through daily and weekly interactions, as well as, quarterly business reviews. This individual is responsible for assisting with architecting camera, burglar and fire systems in all new Lowe's locations, including Supply Chain. This individual is also responsible for ensuring that Lowe's AP systems and technologies evolve to support the growing requirements of the business. Additionally, this individual is responsible for assisting with test and learn programs and identifying emerging technologies. This individual will actively work with various Lowe's business groups to establish business requirements on all AP technology moves and will assist IT in soliciting funds, managing, and following up on AP technology projects. This position will facilitate the information cascade of programs and events from SSC and field personnel and communicate updates to the Manager of AP Technology for direction and critical decisions. This role works closely with the Regional Asset Protection and Safety Directors / Managers as well as SSC based support functions to identify and proactively address needs, opportunities and provide immediate support in response to incidents in the field.

 

What you will do

Works closely with IT and other business groups on managing AP Technology projects. These include projects initiated by AP, and projects initiated by other Lowe’s business groups

Expert is Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) systems. This includes not only function of, but expert is all hardware and software systems regarding CCTV

Subject matter expert in Video Management Solution (VMS). Needs to understand not only current VMS provider but also industry trends and other potential providers

Has a firm understanding of Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems as well as reporting systems available regarding them

Understands the use case, positions, and versions of various Public View Monitors throughout Lowe’s

Assists in building requirements for Self-Checkout Video projects as well as assists in rollout of technology to help support shrink mitigation

Has basic knowledge of Fire/Burg Systems and how they work on the network

Works with IT/Audit on PCI Compliance efforts and initiatives

Work with Merchants on product resets that impact CCTV

Assists in ID’ing emerging technology and assist with test & learn

Assisting with all aspects of Project Management, including NDA’s, proof of concept, proof of value, training, deployment and follow-up

Assisting with Annual Forecasting (Capital & Expense)

Assists in Managing Expense Lines

Assists in mitigating Equipment & Maintenance with escalations

Assists with Live View program from a CCTV perspective

Manages requirements and AP technology work with all Reset Activity

Assisting IT & vendors support in the architecture of break/fix resolution and management system

Systems health monitoring and problem escalation/resolution

Supports the Field Support on escalations beyond vendor/IT

Continue to vet and validate CCTV video shots for consistency & Store Mapping

Assist with New Site Reviews (Stores, RDC, XDT, DFC, Storage Facilities, Pop-ups)

Review of Blueprints on all new location builds

Helps facilitate associate Training of AP technology systems and works with the field and learning on these programs

Assisting with Statement of Work & Contractors for vendors / services / projects / store expansion

Vendor Interface Work and updates

Assist in contract Review / Renewals and RFP’s

Assist with managing Key Vendor Relationships

Assist with daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly business operations and business reviews

Challenge expenses and find ways to reduce or eliminate waste

Assist with Vendor Contract and SOW development for AP technologies and processes

Assist in educating various business groups regarding AP technology and influence capital/expense funding to support

Supervising on/off-site vendor liaisons to ensure site locations are receiving the best possible service

Assist with Vendor onboarding

Assist with maintaining partnerships with Vendor Account Managers

Communicates teams timeline and efforts on projects that are critical to AP’s success

Assist with delegating the right tasks and decisions to the people who are in the best position to execute them

Provides open feedback and mentorship to team members to encourage growth

Negotiating effectively for the organization with internal and external stakeholders and builds relationships with key individuals necessary for collaboration.

Assists with developing and presenting communications, frequently to Senior leadership, communicating the desired message, at the appropriate, for the right recipient.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

5 years of work experience in Asset Protection

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience analyzing business documents (P&L, exception reports, etc.).

Experience working in omni-channel retail environment

Experience in using physical security systems

Experience conducting quality reviews/audits
